Hi! Maybe this is a weird dude, but is it possible to make a midihub preset witch automatically changes the bpm’s?
I would like to send a midi out with a variable clock, for example:
LFO > +1BPM > TO CLOCK(BPM+1) > MIDI OUT
So the Midi receiver device will receive a constantly changed BPM’s
the “main Clock” BPM is mapped to the LFO in line1
Notes
the Clock & Tempo Div in line1 are not strictly necessary (it could be a Generator LFO at start of pipeline) but this gives the option of very slow LFO change.
the Tempo Div in line2 is there cos mapped BPMs change by 2 so, if you’re not needing fast BPMs, dividing gives you a finer “resolution”
PS. mapping the Rescale Out Low|High to external controls can give nice performance control
There are various ranges, cause of automatic
LFO rescaling. From very low BPM( About 30 to 70, after goes to 230 BPM, then low again… nevermind, I think your pipe preset could make a very kosmische results!
I’m just experimenting. That example is very basic and a bit dirty cause of delay, now I’m trying to sync also the delay tap tempo programming another pipe line. It’s very interesting to investigate this.
So Midihub is also a very funny material game! I love it!
Hi Kosmisher,
great audio examples, thanks to post here.
If I understand well, your Midi looper is hardware. What is the model of your Midi looper ?
@resonotter
I think it would be a great idea to have a section of the forum specifically dedicated to audio examples of our presets. It could encourage sharing of our results and improve our creativity. A place to see, understand but also HEAR all possibilities of the Midihub.
Cool! Yes, it would be great an audio archive category.
The midi looper is the EHX1440, a wonderful looper, perfect to sync your loops with another gear. And of course the tempo change feature is really great, cause it seems to be a not digital device. And it works almost like speed change of a cassette tape.
yeah, Fred, (I’m not @Blokas – that’s @Giedrius & @Pranciskus but) I think I agree if people attach their presets.
I thought there was already a “Midhub in the Wild” thing but maybe I’m thinking of Pisound.
here’s some more audio…
…from @JoeyButters back in '22 using delays to create a strum from chords. You’ll find the patches in his earlier posts. (eg here)
It wouldn’t surprise me if Joey’s gone even further now we’ve got Chord Ascending in Dispatcher
Just one more audio. This one is more weird by moments, cause the loop layers were recorded while BPM’s were changing. So the resulting sound is really peculiar.
