The Pi Sound fits my Pi 5 well, except no room for active cooling. We will see if that is a problem. I hope it is, I want to fully utilise the Pi! I will cross that bridge when I come to it. (Maybe screw the Pi fan onto the outside of the case with some holes to force air through)
The case fits together into an enclosure around them, but the power supply (a Raspberry Pi standard 5.1v 5A model) cannot supply power to the Pi.
Pi 5 and the active cooler fit well in the Pisound Case. Are you using a different kind of cooler?
We have tested the same kind of power supply, it supplies the power just fine.
Are you sure you have assembled the case correctly? Make sure you use the right lengths of standoffs for the top and bottom parts, note the shortest ones are for the bottom:
@Giedrius@worik I’m going to go back and try my acrylic case again. I could have sworn it wouldn’t fit in the case with the active cooler but I’ll always be the first to admit I’m wrong.
@Giedrius I absolutely missed that blurb on the PiSound page that v1.2 supports the 5 with active cooler. Mine is definitely a previous version. And I see from the description of the Pisound Case that the newer version is not compatible with the older v1.0 and v1.1 Pisound. Looks like I might need to order a new Pisound and case. The 3d printed one works but it’s nowhere near as sturdy as the Pisound Case.
The USB C end of the charger is only got a mm or two penetrating the female end on the PI. It did not power up, but even if it did I would not be happy using it.
The HDMI plug would not get close either.
It is all academic now as the front of the case split in half as I was drilling out a larger hole for the HDMI, so no panel at all.
The one that came with the official case. It is not designed for mounting on the board, and a clip on cooler I bought before I realised that the case had a fan. It will not fit under the Pi Sound audio jacks
