Case alternatives?

I have the Pisound plexiglass case and have a lot problems with it. It doesn’t match the micro USB ports on the side. It doesn’t allow access to the SD Card, and the thickness causes the USB-C power to frequently fall out.

Are there alternatives? Perhaps something I can 3d print?

Just to confirm, you are using the correct Pi with your case? I think there’s been a couple of revisions to the case with the newer Pis.

Would you also be able to post some photos?

Okay so you do have a mismatch. I think your case is for the older pis that had a full size HDMI connection whereas your pi has the dual mini connecotrs

If you guys have something better, I would be interested. Unless I will get fucked by tariffs.

Are you in the US?

Hi @thudson, did you purchase this case directly from us? The side panel you used is for Pi 2 / 3. (The cases we sell right now come with 2 panels for that side - one for use with Pi 2 / 3, and the other for 4 / 5).

What is the version of your Pisound? (it’s written in a corner on the bottom side of the Pisound)

I purchased it the same time as the pisound board. It is @2017 v1.0.

And I am in the US.

Ok, your case was designed for Pi 2 / 3 as Pi 4 was released in 2019, that explains the misalignment of ports.

Unfortunately the latest version of Pisound Case is incompatible with v1.0 or v1.1 Pisound versions, and we don’t have any remaining stock of the old compatible version…

There’s these 3D printer files available for v1.0 or v1.1 Pisound, but they’re also for Pi 2 / 3, so it should be modified for Pi 4 / 5 ports:

I can see there’s some other projects available here:

Thanks. I have a 3d printer, I will look for other solutions.

@thudson let me check here at home. I might have a side panel for the old case

That’s okay. I’ve found a 3d printing design I like.

In case you change your mind. I’m also in the US.

I used a dremel on my case for the port openings that were too small. Needle file would do it too.

I’ve found a case I think I can just drill holes on the top. This is from pishop.us.
