Nothing works after update

At the Moment i dont have pisound i never said that. I Would when the image works before i buy something. I use a usb interface behringer umc22. And the step i mean is the setup wizard.

So here i make a list what i have tried with 3b and 4b every time with new flashed image.

  1. patchbox setup wizard without update and install modep at the end of the wizard.

3b and 4b got “error, try it again”.

  1. patchbox setup wizard with update and install modep.

3b and 4b got like broken, no monitor no ssh no vnc its like dead.

  1. Realtimepi sudo apt update and upgade and installed modep, changed jackdrc to my values.

3b stuck at starting jack the logs are uploaded and it doesnt matter which values its every time the same error. I tried also the default sound card.

4b is working without problems

sudo apt-get update --allow-releaseinfo-change --fix-missing

Try running this first. Bullseye update might be causing issues.

The 3B stuck at starting jack is most likely the rt_throttling due to issues in the newer kernel. 4b does not suffer from this.

When you do the setup wizard are you trying to use the USB interface right away?

I have tried with both usb and default card.

This helps for patchbox now its working fine.
Thank you.
For the other i have only done the jack config in the setup wizard and then used the command from him and then installed modep via patchbox menu.
For realtimepi was no change but doesnt matter if its patchbox or realtimepi the only thing i need was modep

@Giedrius I will do a PR for the update option on patchbox cli to include the fix that upstream bullseye has caused

This is a huge tip. I’ve broken my Patchbox OS install twice now by doing “Good Sysadmin” stuff, and updating. So, just leave the installed packages alone; after I get my module set up, install anything extra and just leave it alone I guess.
