Hello,
Is there a way to completely reset or restart MidiHub remotely? I use it on stage, and recently it froze for some unexplained reason. The problem is, it’s so embedded in my system that I can’t manually access the switch or USB cable. The only option was to shut down the PC later when I had a quiet moment, since the MidiHub gets its power from there.
Regards
B.T
Hey, Midihub has a watchdog enabled which would automatically reset the device in case the firmware freezes up. In your case, it sounds like it was still operational in terms of not triggering the watchdog reset, but something unexpected happened (maybe some MIDI mapped params went into some weird state), it would make sense to investigate the issue better to know what went wrong - if you have any ideas, let us know, and show us your preset.
Was the Midihub Editor able to connect to Midihub in this state?
As for resetting it remotely - the closest you can get to that is using a Program Change message to reload the Midihub’s preset to the state as it was stored to its system memory. See the Device → Settings menu to set the port and channel of the PC0 - PC7 messages it listens to for preset changes.
