How to set up a game controller or an arcade joystick to switch banks from DJTechTools Midi Fighter Spectra

Hi:

I am really interested to see if anyone has set up an arcade joystick to be able switch djtechtools midi fighter spectra banks 1, 2, 3, and 4. Just switching x axis and y axis or top left corner and top right corner.

Currently I have the LoopMidi, FergoJoystick Midi, Midihub editor (connect Virtual A to USB B), and MIDI-OX (to control midi stream issues).

Seeing what pipes I would need and how to set it up – or if I am missing something.

Everything works well in Reason Studios but I have not able to achieve switching banks.

Seeing if anyone is tech savvy.
Thank you and everyone.

Hey @Jedi_Appr0_0, please give details on

  1. which MIDI messages would be sent into Midihub when switching x axis and y axis or top left corner and top right corner.
  2. which MIDI messages need to be sent out to achive the bank switching.

If you’ve partly written a preset, that might be useful if only for the correct input/output ports.

Do you have a Midihub yet, btw?

Hi:

So far the pipes on Midihub editor I had selected and set up was
from Virtual A to USB B.

It looks like the only sending MIDI options for Fergo Joystick MIDI is

Note On
Note Off
CC

It also looks like Midi Fighter Spectra’s Banks may be these :backhand_index_pointing_down:
Banks 1 through 4

  1. Channel 4 – C -1
  2. Channel 4 – C# -1
  3. Channel 4 – D -1
  4. Channel 4 – D# -1

Thank you.

Virtual ports are used for internal MH connections:
Please save your preset so far and upload it.

(Have you got a Midihub to test with or are you restricted to trying out the Editor pre-purchase?)

only sending MIDI options for Fergo Joystick MIDI… Note On Note Off CC

So choose which messages you want Fergo to send, then clarify:
which joystick action (and resulting Fergo message) you want to trigger which Spectra Bank…

…that bit isn’t clear yet.

Do I understand correctly that the planned message flow is

Fergo → MIDI-OX → Midihub → MIDI-OX → Spectra?

P.S.

the simple MIDI joysticks I’ve tried are just X & Y. Does yours give more options like, say, sending out a distinct message when the stick is at Xmax+Ymax, Xmax+Ymin, etc?

Hi:

its,

LoopMIDI :right_arrow: Fergo Joystick MIDI :right_arrow: MIDI-OX :right_arrow: MIDIHub Editor ( :right_arrow: Joystick) – the rest I wouldn’t know where the rest of the information goes it. ?

  • The midi fighter spectra, I am not sure its receiving anything or control messages.
  • I think the midi fighter spectra needs control messages from MIDIHub Editor. :left_arrow:

I am not sure what I am missing.
