How to set up Korg Kaossilator Pro + MIDI-OX + LoopMIDI + Arturia Keystep 37

Hi:

I am interested in setting up my Korg Kaossilator Pro first.

I plugged in the the Kaos Pro’s output and then to the ESI M4U ex. The Kaos Pro seems to prefer it set up that way, but when I plug it to the midihub it doesn’t do anything.

What can I do to fix this issue?

You should build up your Midihub preset to route the MIDI data to where you want it to go if connecting Korg Kaossilator Pro to Midihub.

Hey, @Jedi_Appr0_0 , I did this for another user in a similar position awhile back.

…which sketches the inputs & outputs for the solution being aimed for, might be similar to where you’re at.

I find one of the useful things about an “In - Out” drawing like this is it brings out what you know…

…and, more importantly, what you still need to find out.
Often you can find out a lot about the inputs from a device, just by plugging it in to Midihub and watching the MIDI Monitor as you do certain things.

Knowing what you need to send out usually to destination devices means looking up the manuals.

Once you get there you can seek much more specific questions like

When I connect Kaossilator → Midihub A directly and press buttons A,B,C, I see messages X,Y,Z in the MIDI Monitor

When I try to send it via KS37, however, I don’t see anything

(PS. that might have an answer in the KS37 domain!)

or

I have Kaoss sending Ch.6 CC#111 - 113 in MIDI-A.
I want them to control my synth on Ch.8 CC#69 - 67 on MIDI-D

How do I do this?

PS. I’d like CC#70 to be restircted to its sweet spot between 32 and 96 if possible

Hi:

So far, the three important steps I have to focus on is,

  1. Correctly setting up the 5 pin MIDI cables
  2. Setting up the start out pipelines in MIDIHub Editor – to see if its working.
  3. Going back to set up the pipelines of converting the CC to Notes.

Do I just set up the 88 key notes first and then go back to convert it to CC to Notes?
