I’ve been working on getting the latest version of ChucK working on my collection of Raspberry Pis, including the Pi 5 with the Pisound card. Thursday (2025-10-02) I discovered that Raspberry Pi have updated their operating system base from Debian bookworm to trixie.
The Blokas repositories do not appear to have any packages yet for trixie. How difficult will it be to update them? It’s not urgent; since I’m building most of my tools from source or running them in containers, as long as the audio plumbing (PulseAudio, ALSA, JACK and PipeWire) are functioning, I can mix bookworm and trixie on the Pi 5 with the Pisound card.
I have successfully installed Trixie and Pisound on a CM5. The card works without problems but I cannot access the settings so it runs on default settings.
The Pisound uses the sampling rate and sample format which is requested by ALSA or Jack, so Pisound does not have to be configured directly. It is done by ALSA or Jack, via the Linux kernel, so you start your program with appropriate software specific settings and it takes care of configuring Pisound internally.
Hello everoyne!
I’m not having success instlling pisound tools on my raspberry pi 5, running Trixie (v 13.2).
Running the install script from the docs propmts a couple errors
“https://apt.blokas.io trixie Release 404 Not Found”
“E: The repository ‘https://apt.blokas.io trixie Release’ does not hav a Release file”
It also says that it was “E: Unable to locate package pisound”
Can anyone help me with some guidance/suggestions? I’m new to this stuff (Linux and such).
I am working on adding support for trixie as we speak.

The packages and scripts have been ported over for trixie, the previous OS image versions should continue to work same as before.
Let me know if you spot any issues.

Thank you so much for the super fast reply and update! It looks like everything installed correctly (need ot test it).
Now, I need to find a way to install/run the Midihub Editor on raspbery pi OS (trixie) 64bits. AppImage is not working w segmentation fault error (and I had to change from default Wayland to X to even get to that point). But, I guess I should do a post on the Midihub forum. Will do ASAP.
Thanks a lot!
