Hi, I’m using the device and like it a lot.
it would be awesome to add an Euclidean mode to the arpeggiator, allowing to divide time by factors of 1 through 32 and give the ability to choose the number of accents. Both synced reset or free running mode would be a must.
Also a way of grouping and naming for rows of pipes could be of great help to arrange the pipes window.
Thank for your consideration.
Hey, @Kenji, presumably the number of notes would be defined by the number of notes held?
What would happen in your view if this exceeded the number of steps?
IMO, such a pipe would also need to include rotations…
…as switching between rotations can be interesting (and the need would arise anyway from polyrhythms in two or more pipelines).
PersonalIy, think a Euclidean pipe deserves to be a pipe in its own right:
-
cos I think Arpeggiator is pretty much maxed out so the extra properties would need a re-design of the pipe structure (just my hunch – @Giedrius & @Pranciskus would know)
-
a pipe based on Arp is then restricted to distinct notes in a chord; it would be important, I think, to preserve the ability to have repeated sounds within a cycle
(It could be part of a new suite of rhythm based pipes which would be another leap forward for Midihub)
cool idea, @Kenji, welcome to Midihub!
