Cannot update MidiHub

Hello there,

I’m trying to update my MidiHub but I’m facing an issue

Failed locating the Midihub in bootloader mode!
Error code: 4

The MidiHub seems to not restart in bootloader mode. I tried forcing it (by keeping the button pushed during reboot). It correctly restarts in bootloader mode (all led on) but the editor can’t seem to find it.

I’m using macOS, with Midihub Editor version 1.15.3.

It seems I’m able to see the device on the system, even in bootloader mode:

 USB 3.0 Bus:

      Host Controller Driver: AppleEmbeddedUSBXHCIFL1100
      PCI Device ID: 0x1100
      PCI Revision ID: 0x0010
      PCI Vendor ID: 0x1b73

        midihub_fw MH-1VD5NYE:

          Product ID: 0x0c9c
          Vendor ID: 0x16d0
          Version: 1.00
          Serial Number: fw_MH-1VD5NYE
          Speed: Up to 12 Mb/s
          Manufacturer: Blokas Labs
          Location ID: 0x02200000 / 25
          Current Available (mA): 500
          Current Required (mA): 500
          Extra Operating Current (mA): 0

I also I was expecting to see STM32 DFU in the USB listing, but that might just be because you’re not using a USB DFU bootloader.

Hi, please launch Midihub Editor like this:

LIBSERIALPORT_DEBUG=1 /Applications/Midihub\ Editor.app/Contents/MacOS/Midihub\ Editor 2>&1 | tee mh.log

manually restart Midihub into bootloader mode, and try to connect to it through the editor.

After 10 seconds, exit the editor. In the current directory you’ll find mh.log, please send it to me. Zipping it will reduce the file size significantly.

I sent you that privately. Thanks for your support!

Ah, this is the original closed beta version of Midihub which requires a different firmware upgrade procedure.

Nom nom new functions in the works!

It’s the beta back from 2018.

There will be new stuff though, once it is ready.
