Hopefully a super simple one for you guys… I want my DAW (Ableton Live) to determine MIDI routing: I have a MIDI track and set that to input A and I want to tell it to route the output to output A, or B, etc.
Do I need to create a patch to allow me to do this or will the Midihub allow it out of the box? I suppose what I’m asking is whether it can be used as a ‘dumb’ MIDI interface.
Yes @Mansoul, a Midihub patch/ preset can be used for straightforward routing.
In fact, with a blank preset Midihub routes all Inputs (4xDIN, 4xUSB) to all 8 outputs.
here’s what a simple DAW → DIN preset might look like:
here you’ve assigned track outputs in the DAW to USB A & B
then you’re telling certain inputs to send to certain MIDI DIN outputs
In the last line some messages (say, Clock) are being filtered out.
btw, You can try the Editor yourself without owning a Midihub
