Hi there.
If I set up 2 MidiHubs in the right way could I then connect them using a Retrokits RK-006 and have the two hubs communicate and exchange midi. I currently have them connected via DIN and I would really like to get this socket back.
Thanks.
Connect both Midihubs to the same host device (your PC / laptop / Raspberry Pi) and make them forward MIDI data between each other, using MIDI-OX on Windows, Midi Patchbay on macOS or aconnect on Linux. (or your DAW)
Hey there, thanks for the reply.
I’ve been using Midipipe for exactly that, the problem is that soon a computer won’t really be an option so I have to sort something out, hence the Retrokits thing idea. A tangential point would also be that I have been informed by those supposedly in the know that routing midi clock through the computer isn’t such a good idea due to jitter (?) so currently I have 2 workstations linked by 2 long midi cables in my studio, it would be handy to reclaim these ports and since the Midihubs seem to work if they are just powered, no computer, the retrokits thing might sort this too, so if anyone has any input that would be great.
Thanks.
