Renaming Midihub connections

In Ableton, Sysex Librarian etc Midihub’s connections are named something like “Midihub MH-1MHG2PY MIDIHUB USB A IN” so anything useful is often out of sight to the right in menus. I see this in Audio Midi Setup on the Mac too. In settings I changed the name there and also in default port names but no luck. How do I change the port names to something more useful?

Hey @ultracello, turns out we can do this now. Discovered this when I saw “Midihub [serial#] A”, “Midihub [serial#] B” etc on another used MH I just bought (instead of “Port 1”,“Port 2”, etc). Turns out that as well as being able to edit the name in Device → Settings…, one can change the port names in Device → Edit Default Port Names… I thought this was just for internal visibility, but No. After checking with Giedrius, I did the above, disconnected from the Editor unplugged Midihub…
