I’m new to the midihub and still trying to get my head around it although I have had some successes. Before I tie myself in knots with this problem it may be something others have already tried. The KS pro track one is EITHER a melodic sequencer or a drum sequencer. They cannot be played simultaneously by the Keystep. It is possible to have each sequencer on a different channel (the default for drums is 10) so you can switch back and forward. But I am wondering if there its anyway that the midihub could provide a workaround that would allow both sequences to be played at the same time. I would welcome suggestions. Thanks.
Hey, @JimF, the KS Pro appears to be designed to do 4 tracks simultaneously with switching making it easy to do things on the fly.
As it’ll only produce either melodic or drum at any given moment, that’s all MH can receive.
Might be worth contacting Arturia (they’re pretty helpful) to ask whether one can get KS Pro to do what you want.
What MH can do is “split” two sequences from one: so, if you had some notes all in the bottom 4 octaves and other in the top 4, MH can separate them and “re-octave” them and send them to separate channels.
Not the same as independent sequences though…
Hi - this is very helpful. It was a long shot on my part. I suspect that the firmware prevents this but wanted to see if anyone had tackled the problem. Your idea about splits is interesting and sounds very useful. I’m sure I could use that (but not to solve the KS problem). Thanks.
it’s one way of getting morre than 4 channels out of KS Pro sequences
