Yamaha HS7 Speaker blown or raspberry / pisound problem

Hey!

So… for some time now I am ignoring some weird sounds that got pretty apparent when I disabled the high pass filter on my Yamaha HS7 (don’t ask why it was on)…

Recorded a 20-20.000 Hz sweep with my phone

Same on both speakers. I unplugged all USB devices, also the display that was connected. First I had the feeling it got better after unplugging a Zigbee dongle + fancy LED keyboard (both USB) … but no idea if it really was gone for a second or my ears were just deaf (got a bad cold rn…)

It’s unlikely that both speakers are blown and show the exact same problem, right?

I’ll try to run a test without pisound tomorrow directly with a synth connected to the speakers.

Hey, did you test this further? Try using a different power supply for the system and check dmesg log for any warnings. Are you using Jack backend? If so, check for any warnings via journalctl -u jack -f

Sadly no messages. I also unplugged everything. I got a NVME SSD… hm. It’s really bad for music with lots of high frequenies.
