Ableton MacOS to sequence devices via MIDI

Hi, i appreciate your patience in helping me through this.

I have been unsuccessful mapping MacOS > Ableton > USB > MIDI (A/B/C/D)

  1. OXI One Sequencer into Ableton works via Midihub In (MIDI A) and USB and has given me no problems since I bought the device about a year ago
  2. But Ableton to devices via Midihub USB > MIDI A/B/C using External Instruments or plain MIDI + Audio tracks does not.
  3. I have tested my connections and even used WIDI MIDI to confirm Ableton configuration and all works. I just can’t make Midihub to flow MIDI out.
  4. There was a brief moment after selecting the Map button in “pipe parameters” but stopped.
  5. When creating a pipe with INPUT USB A > MIDI A, nothing happens
  6. When I hit the Map button, the USB A In pipe gets converted to into MIDI A In pipe.

Devices I am trying to sequence from Ableton through Midihub are Vermona Perfourmer, Oxi Coral, 1010Music BlackBox, Hydrasynth.

Thank you beforehand for your help.

Please post a screenshot of your preset in Midihub Editor (please include entire window in the screenshot) and Ableton’s MIDI preferences section with Midihub ports visible.

Hi Giedrius,

In another case of the RTFM syndrome, I was finally able to make it work.

  1. Created USB A-D tracks and mapped each against a MIDI A-D tracks. It worked once I realized USB A could not be virtualized across each of the MIDI outs.
  2. I realized I was using an incompatible MIDI TRS adapter for one of my devices and thus not working.

Thank you for your patience and your prompt response. Much appreciate it.

Good to hear you got it working.

I’m not sure I follow you.

Do you mean you’re using the Map button on the Source / Destination parameters?

Thank you for your patience with my poor description. Issue is resolved. I realized I needed a dedicated USB IN for every MIDI OUT.
