How to power a 7" DSI display with Pisound mounted on Raspberry Pi 4?

Hi! I am new to Pisound. I am setting it up with a Raspberry Pi 4, and I hadn’t realized that once the Pisound is mounted on the GPIO header, I would be left without a 5V power source for my 7" display. What would be the best way to connect the 5V power? I was thinking about using pins 1 and 2 from the 14-pin expansion header on the Pisound. Will this cause any issues, or are there better ways to do it? Thanks!

What is the screen model you are using? Pins 1 & 2 on 14 pin header should be ok.

That’s what I did and it’s been running fine for quite some time.

What software are you running?

It’s a generic Chinese 7" DSI display, one of those with the blue PCB on the back.Thank you very much for the help!

I want to build a desktop M8 Headless workstation

This is a homemade substitute for mod-ui built with LVGL. The development is already quite advanced, not advanced enough to be released though.

As long as you’re using a strong enough power supply everything should work without any problem. I’ve been doing fine with officials raspberry PSUs so far on both pi4 and pi5.

This is what I have done for my guitar multi effect, using the official touch screen and the official power supply.

The screen is using the deported pins on the pisound.
