Hi would the Pisound micro be ok to use as a stand alone audio recorder, I can see another project that’s similar to what I need that uses the bigger version.

Yes, it can be used for a project like that. Where it excels is when you want to have a custom form factor for your device, like your own enclosure and audio ports layout. Otherwise, the bigger Pisound works out of the box. ![]()
So it’s identical in performance to the bigger unit but I get the flexibility to add the parts to make what I need?
There are some performance differences, the bigger Pisound has 192kHz sampling rate support, while Pisound Micro goes up to 96kHz. This might not be a problem, as usually, for musical purposes, 48kHz is what gets used anyway. You can compare the detailed specs in the documentation of each device.
