Patchbox OS/MODEP with Edirol UA-25

Hello,
Just stumbled across these projects and thought I’d give them a go before getting a PIsound…

Is there anyway to get my UA-25 working properly with them? On loading up MODEP on the web interface I only seem to have a single digital output.

The UA-25 was detected in the start up wizard but I guess it’s not properly supported.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,
Marcus

Hey, what’s the output of these terminal commands:

arecord -l
aplay -l
amidi -l
cat /etc/jackdrc

Also, please attach the full log printed by dmesg command.

Hi,
Thanks for replying.

Here are the outputs of the above:

thanks

Try reconfiguring the card to use 48000 or 44100 sampling rate. Run patchbox, go to jack, and go through the config again. You may have to restart MODEP too, not sure, but better to do it  sudo systemctl stop jack && sudo systemctl start modep-mod-ui

If that doesn’t help, try editing /etc/jackdrc directly:

sudo nano /etc/jackdrc

Make the last line looks like this:

exec /usr/bin/jackd -t 2000 -R -P 95 -d alsa -d hw:1,0 -r 44100 -p 512 -n 3 -X seq -s -S

Keep in mind that USB cards generally require to have much higher buffer size (and latency) compared to I²S cards.

Hi,
Thanks, it seems to be working now, very much appreciated.

Interestingly (or confusingly?), once it got working, I started altering the sample rate/buffer size/period.

I’m now on 96k, 128 and 2. It seems to all be working with no lag or random stuttering.

No idea why it’s decided to suddenly start working. I ran the command to stop/start jack and modep each time after a change.
