PiSound Issue - FanShim

I posted a topic last night and deleted it with the intent of starting a new topic once I had done some more troubleshooting. So here’s what happened:

Went to rehearsal last night and was not getting any sound out of my RPi4/PiSound/Modep setup. Tried both the latest Bullseye and beta Bookworm release. Nothing. So when I got home I plugged it all back in and still no sound. Once I connected via SSH, I discovered that the PiSound was not being detected (Jack wasn’t starting because the PiSound was missing). I took the case apart and reseated the card with no change. I then decided to try and remove the Pimorini Fan Shim and then all of a sudden the PiSound was detected and everything was working again. I put the Fan Shim back in and it continued to work.

Anyone else have this experience with the Fan Shim? Also, is there perhaps a better way to add some cooling to a RPi4/PiSound setup? I have the acrylic case from Blokas as well.

As far as I remember, some Pimoroni service must be disabled so the hats don’t conflict with each other.
