Reading frequency with PiSound

Hey All,

New member to the forum, after reading the documentation I am still unclear on whether I can create a certain functionality with the PiSound.

I want to read the frequencies of all sounds played through the interface and register them against notes e.g. A,A# in run time. Probably via a frequency analyser type application/program.

Is this possible?

This may be a dumb question…

Hey, using Pisound you can get audio input at 48kHz, 96kHz or 192kHz. If you can find a software program that is able to analyze the digital PCM wave and output the notes that can run on Linux, it should be good to go.

I think a relevant search term would be ‘Audio to MIDI notes’ for this kind of project.
