Hello again…Is there some voodoo magic I could do with setting up Patchbox OS on a Windows Virtual machine via VirtualBox and then flash/copy that directly to a SSD then boot it all on a Pi? this would be great while doing config and installs and for backup purposes. Also good for testing and researching ;)…all the fun stuff! cheers heaps! Jeramiah
Looks like it’s possible to clone the sd card into an USB SSD disk: https://www.tomshardware.com/how-to/boot-raspberry-pi-4-usb. The file system contents won’t be easily accessible on Windows, as it requires special software to read Linux file systems. I used DiskInternals Linux Reader successfully, but it only reads the files.
An interim solution for speeding things up would be to use a fast SD card, the speed does make a big difference.
Great thanks! will get into it…yeah it would be good for patches, pure data and supercollider external setups and libs and so forth…just doing that once and then making a backup or clone of it…
cheers Giedrius! have a good one.
