latest version, latest FW. works fine on a Windows 10 desktop.
installs on Windows 11 however, double click on exe or shortcut theres a Midihub background process viewable in task manager but the UI doesnt appear (nor does it show on taskbar). Tried running as admin too, same. Any ideas? is anyone running it successfully on Windows 11?
Do you have multiple monitors connected to your system?
not on the Windows 11 laptop in question, no, Im using only the built in monitor. On the desktop though I do have 2 monitors, and there is no issue. I did read about the possibility that an app (not necessarily Blokus) can open but “off monitor”, in which case the way to recover it is via the taskbar icon for the app, or alt-Tab, where you can locate all open apps and bring it back to the monitor. In my situtation, there is no indication at all that the UI is present in any state, its as though it doesnt activate at all. However, midihub editor DOES show up as a background process, one process for each time Ive double clicked on the app icon.
There is nothing shown in the task bar when the process is running? Did it ever work before, or is this the first time you are trying to run it on this device?
its worked (and still does) on Windows 10. Im not certain that I ever ran it on my laptop since upgrading that to Windows 11, which is a while back. its quite possible that not.
And no, nothing indicating a running app, showing on the taskbar, except the icon of the application which I chose to put on the taskbar.
Try deleting this key from your registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Blokas\Midihub Editor
It will reset the cached settings. You can do so using the Registry Editor program. Make sure midihub_editor.exe is not running while you do this.
deleted the reg entry then started the editor, same result. Also tried as admin and no. I did notice though that the registry entry that I deleted was NOT recreated (I refreshed the reg editor). do I need to uninstall and reinstall? by the way I did try that earlier, complete unistall then reinstall (as opposed to install over) and it didnt help.
Do you have an option to “Create Dump File” when rightclicking on the midihub_editor.exe process? If so, please create one and PM it to me, you will probably have to zip it first.
Ive generated the file. where to send? thanks
Fixed by updating Wacom tablet drivers. (The Midihub Editor does not depend/use/refer to the Wacom stuff in anyway, there’s no special functionality for it)
