MIDI ports: what to do if you are not using midi controllers?

Hi people,

I’ve been using pisound as an audio interface for my Rpi home Studio and it works great. Thank you for this little incredible tech! This more than enought for independent musicians recording mics or line inputs.

But as a analog musician, Pisound MIDI ports are there justing observing while the rest of the ports are getting the job done. Could I use them for something else than connectiong MIDI controllers? Any ideias or suggestions?

The MIDI ports can only send and receive the musical performance data like which notes are being played, controller changes, etc… I think It could also be used for controlling the lighting during live performance.
