Hiya! I’ve got my system set up around two MIDIHubs, and now that I have a few new synths with MIDI Thru, I’m underusing one of them… So, I saw this weird Simplexfm firmware for the Soma Metaconformer, with weird FM noises coming from what is/was/supposed-to-be a MIDI port. It is very weird, as the Metaconformer was just a simpler version of a MIDIHub, and instead of expanding the MIDI aspects, they added this audio thing it does, in a new firmware. I was wondering if something like that could be incorporated into the MIDIHub? It would need to use a DIN MIDI to TRS adapter “backwards” to get audio out it, if that’s at all realistic… but can that FM functionality be added? I mean, the MIDIHub already does stuff I only dreamt of back in early 90s… so maybe this is not such a crazy thing to ask…? Who knows…
Weird and Wonderful.

like you, I’d be interested in @Giedrius’ & @Pranciskus’ take on this!
From what I understand from the brief glance I took on the Metaconformer, that device has an Hybrid output: or MIDI, or sync signal. As sync signal is some kind of audio (to my knowledge, but I’m only a consumer and make music for my own fun), the Metaconformer already is equipped with an audio chip.
And as far as I know, Midihub does not contain an audio chip. So I don’t see how this would be possible on the Midihub. As MIDI is data, not sound.
Just my 2 cents.
Oh yea… I didn’t look at it from that point of view… I know that some MIDI outputs can be switched to sync, and that would make them audio, so that if the Midihub doesn’t do sync, then sending audio obviously wouldn’t work… Thanks, keeps me from wasting the weekend trying!
