Hi all. I have converted one of my two Pisound (RPi3+) boxes to Patchbox. Haven’t done much with it yet, though I have some plans.
I just wanted to report that I had to install Jack manually (“sudo apt install jackd”), else the service would not start and I saw the error message “Jack software is not installed.” Seems to be good now once I did the install.
Hi, jackd2 is installed instead which is a newer version of Jack, and it is preconfigured to be shared with other audio software, by having JACK_PROMISCUOUS_SERVER=jack environment variable defined for every process.
What is the software which was giving ‘Jack software is not installed’ error? It might itself be out of date. These Jack versions conflict with each other.
