Is it possible to run OSMC alongside or inside patchbox OS

It’s Linux, of course it’s possible. 
You could look into setting up some dual booting or see if you can install Patchbox software into OSMC and make it run in compatible manner. For the latter part you have to set up our APT server and install the patchbox package.
