Connecting USB M-audio keyboard to Pi4

I am trying to get my USB kyb to work in pedalboard - it works fine on my Pi3 and can be used as a midi controller. Using USB power both cases.

Hey, what output do you get in dmesg when it gets detected properly on Pi3?

I couldn’t tell you as I’ve boxed up the pi4 and pi3 again & I really don’t want to do through dismantling everything again :wink: I’ll probably use an external pwr supply and a din midi cable for the M-audio.

1 more thing - not related - can I attach a fan to gpio power supply pins 4 & 6 or would that affect the pisound board’s operation

I think it’d be enough to just put in your sd card into Pi3 and see what’s up after connecting the USB controller, without mounting Pisound, etc…

It should be fine, as long as the power supply provides enough power for everything.

OK the problem is not Pi 4 or the Pisound board it’s my M-audio kyb - My UM-ONE works fine with USB in on Pi4 with my Roland and Yamaha drum kits. They also work perfectly with the Midi DIN in on the Pisound. tsch.

I installed midisport-firmware (apt) works a treat!

Works a treat, never any thermal notifications! It’s hot here in Asia, room temps go from 22c to 38c
