6N138 Optocoupler ok1 which side

My 6N138 Optocoupler doesnt have notch as Atmega328P. Do silkscreen notch need to be aligh with small dot and Y?

Yes, the dot indicates the side to align with.

This was still not explicitly clear to me, a bit confusing because the drawings show OK1 in the lower left corner. I used

For others:
if you have the board such that the socket notch is to the right,

  • a notch on the chip should be on the right
  • a dot /Y should be in the upper right corner
  • a bevel/ridge on the chip should be on the upper side

Suggestion:
Maybe improve drawing by showing a dot/Y in the upper right corner, and/or line along upper side.

(i think the instructions are overall excellent, if not abundantly clear. This is just to improve on that feature, such that midiboy even more excels as an entry level arduino project for the in-experienced.)
