MH / intermittent no midi out

A common occurrence in my set up is that midihub lights will flash showing that information is being sent to the computer, but the computer does not see anything coming in. If I power cycle, the Mhub the problem goes away. This happens fairly often. Why? Can it be fixed?

Thanks.

Peter

Please check via the Midihub Editor what is actually being sent to USB outputs in your preset. Also check your USB cable - it might be able to power Midihub, but have bad data connection. Some errors or warnings should be visible on your host computer OS though in case it does not manage to keep the USB connection.

I changed the cable. Still, the midi hub editor shows there is midi going out USB but midi monitor on my Mac shows no information arriving. In other words, the same problem. And, still, if I power cycle, the midi hub, midi information is passed from it.

Is this a hardware problem?

Do you use sysex in your devices? When merging, an unfinished sysex transaction might end up blocking an output.

What happens if you bypass and unbypass the [TO USB] pipe? Or alternatively, what if you delete it, and create a new one going to the same destination?

I don’t actively write hex code, so I guess I’m not using sysex.

Next time it happens, I will try mute unmute/deleting for your advice and let you know
